Despite being ridiculously young (he was born in 1970), Martin is a cornerstone of Swedish fandom since more than 20 years. He was a fan guest of honor as early as 1985, at Ghöstacon in Uppsala. Up until the general elections in September, he was a Member of Parliament for the Liberal party but he has previously been vice chair for the Swedish national federation of gays, lesbians, and bisexuals, a publishing editor, and a translator, among other things (which include writing questions for the Swedish version of Jeopardy).

Martin Andreasson

After having discovered SF and fandom at the age of twelve he published his first fanzine, The Manifesto of Oscar II, in 1984 and soon became one of the most prominent of all neo fans of the mid-80s. Despite having reduced his fanactivity noticeably lately, with more than a hundred published fanzines he is still one of the most prolific fanzine editors of Swedish fandom. Among his fanzines the general contents fanzine Floreced (est. 1984) and the news fanzine Horisont (1992-1994) deserve mentioning.

Martin was chairman for the conventions Luncon 2 and Luncon 3 (1986 and 1987, respectively), chairman of the Swedish fanzine federation SFF 1986-1994 and 1997-2000 chairman of the Alvar Appeltofft Memorial Foundation.
