Most of the programme will be ready only shortly before the start of the festival, including many of the panels, interviews and talks we will have on topics from science fiction, fantasy and related genres. Other things are already planned. Below follows a list of some of the things we are planning.

There will be several things going on in parallel from June 27 at 5 PM until June 29 5 PM, and since we have international guests and members there will be at least one thing in English at all times.

Do you have idéas for programme items you would like us to consider? Or even better, would you like to arrange something yourself? Please write to program@steampunkfestival.se and let us know.

For all visitors to the museum

The museums and the subcultures

A panel conversation about how museums can work with roleplayers, steampunks, computer gamers and other people involved in expressions of popculture or various subcultures.

Physics show inspired by Nikola Tesla

The physicist Staffan Yngve holds a show with experiments inspired by the inventor and pop cultural icon Nikola Tesla.

Steampunk costume show

Steampunk clothing and apparel shown on stage.

For members of the festival

Kaffeeklatsches

Our guests may hold a smaller meeting over coffee or tea, and have a conversation with a few of the members of the festival. There will be lists to sign up for this, because the number of participants will be limited.

Workshop: metal wire craft

Elin Samuelsson holds a workshop in bending metal wires to beautiful things. Beginner level. Here are some pictures of her creations (a bit fancier than what will be made in the workshop, probably).

Crafts café

Bring your own project: knitting or wood carving or anything that you can carry with you. Sit down for an hour together with others.

Tea tasting

Carolina Gomez Lagerlöf leads us in a tasting of various teas.

Tea duelling

We will have a tournament in tea duelling.

Quadrille and other formation dances from

Per Lindberg from the dance guild in the Stockholm Tolkien society will teach us formation dances of a type that was popular in the 19th century.

It might not look exactly like this, but here is a video with some examples of this kind of dance.
